Little Bestseller is run by Little Bestseller LLC, a Colorado company. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect, why, who helps us, and how long we keep it. If anything is unclear, email hello@littlebestseller.com.
This site is for parents
Our customers are parents and other adults. Children don't have accounts and never sign in. The only information about a child we receive is what a parent chooses to send us so we can make their book.
What we collect
- On this website: your email address, if you join our list, and which link brought you here (for example, a post on Instagram). We use privacy-friendly analytics that count visits without cookies and without identifying you. We don't use advertising pixels or tracking cookies.
- When you order: your name, email address and shipping address, plus the names, dedications and addresses for any family copies you send. Payments are handled by our payment processor; we never see or store your card number.
- To make the book: the recording of your child's story, its written transcript, the finished story text, your child's first name and age as you want them printed, the dedication, and the illustrations and book files we create.
Why we use it
- To make, print and ship your book, and to send you your preview and order updates.
- To send story starters and reminders, if you joined our list. Every email has a way to stop them.
- To understand which links bring people to us, counted in total, not person by person.
Who helps us
We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- a payment processor, to take payment;
- a printing partner, to print and ship your book;
- cloud storage and database providers, to keep your order and files safe;
- a speech-to-text provider, to type up the recording;
- an AI writing assistant, to help tidy the transcript into pages (it doesn't receive your child's name);
- an AI illustration provider, to draw the pictures. It receives only descriptions of each scene and the main character, never your child's name, voice, transcript or photos;
- an email provider, to send you messages.
We choose providers whose terms don't allow them to train their AI on what we send them.
What we never do
- We never sell your information or your child's story.
- We never use your child's story, voice or pictures to train AI, and we don't let our providers do so.
- We never share your information for advertising.
- We never publish your child's book or story without your written permission.
How long we keep things
- Recordings: deleted as soon as they're typed up.
- Files for printing: sent to our printer only through private links that expire within 72 hours. Our printer keeps its own copy for up to 60 days, to handle reprints.
- Your book and order: kept so we can reprint a damaged copy or send more copies later. Ask us any time and we'll delete them.
- Your email on our list: kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you and your child. Email hello@littlebestseller.com and we'll reply within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects information we already hold, we'll email you first.
